M.C. Dean opens new office

M.C. Dean, an electrical engineering firm headquartered in Sterling, will open a new, 105,000-square-foot building in the Sharp-Leadenhall District of Baltimore. The venture will create 75 new jobs at the site. The new construction preserved the historical façade of the building in keeping with the historical context of the district. Seven residents from the Sharp-Leadenhall district have been hired to work in the electrical trades. The building was awarded a grant from the Sharp-Leadenhall planning committee to hire four area teens to clean and maintain the public green space throughout the neighborhood.
The May 19 grand opening will feature company president Bill Dean and Betty Bland-Thomas, president of the Sharp-Leadenhall planning committee.
