Leesburg, VA – As part of its free “Ask the Expert” lecture series, Inova Loudoun Hospital will host “Understanding Asthma: Diagnosis and Treatment,” on Thursday, September 29, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thought to be caused by a combination of genetic and environmental factors, asthma affects over 20 million people in the United States. Symptoms can be episodic or persistent and can vary in frequency and intensity. While the problem has no cure, it can be managed. Both taking prescription medicines and avoiding triggers of asthma attacks can help to keep the problem in check. Triggers include upper respiratory infections, environmental allergies and irritant exposures. Presented by Saba Sharif, MD, allergy/asthma specialist, Inova Loudoun Hospital. The lecture will be at Inova Loudoun Hospital, 44045 Riverside Parkway, Leesburg, VA 20176, in Conference Rooms A and B. Participation is free, but registration is requested.
