Dulles Metrorail Connectors announces new partnership

Dulles Metrorail Connectors has announced the team that will design and build Phase II of the Dulles Metrorail Project for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.

Skanska USA Civil and Granite Construction each have an extensive record of bringing in major projects at or below cost estimate and on or before scheduled completion.

“Giving our clients best value is the common thread tying our team together,” said Gary Winsper, project director for Dulles Metrorail Connectors and a senior vice president for Skanska USA Civil.  “We do so by creating innovative logistical solutions, sharing risk and having a culture of safety, quality and ethics.”

Both firms have been key contributors to such successful local projects as the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Project, the first stretch of the Intercounty Connector and the 11th Street Bridge projects, among others. With extensive experience building rail-to-airport projects, the team has completed projects linking John F. Kennedy International Airport to New York City, Minneapolis Saint Paul International Airport to Minneapolis and the Las Vegas Monorail.

DMC comprises Skanska USA Civil and Granite Construction Company with local builders such as Wagman Construction Inc., Trumbull Corp., Facchina Construction Company and designers such as Gannett Fleming and Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson.
