8 Chains North: LoCo Vino

8 Chains North is Loudoun's newest winery. It is named after a site where the winery's vineyard is planted near Waterford. During the Civil War, Confederate engineers made a river crossing on the winery's site that was 1.8 chains (one chain equals 66 feet) upriver of one of Col. White’s river fields in Leesburg. 8 Chains North opened July 3. http://www.8chainsnorth.com
